“Revising Attitudes”

I can definitely relate to the feeling of “bad attitude revising”, I absolutely hate having to go back over something that took me hours to get there in the first place. My attitude towards revising definitely needs to be changed, considering I know the actually values of revising. I really like how the author, Deithier, of “Revising Attitudes” explained we are already revisors we just do not see it. Most people run through their paper, fixing errors, before calling that draft done. Even during the actual writing, we revise, you think of what you will put down in your head and may change it as you are typing. I also like how the author listed out all the reasons why someone may not like revising, including me, and argued against them all. For example, “I do not have time to revise!”; well when you rely on a revision for improving your draft, you won’t spend so much time perfecting the first sloppy draft. I never realized how much time I spent on my first draft because it would usually be my final draft. After reading this article and doing a useful revision, I can see how important revising actually is. To anyone who hates revising I highly recommend trying to revise differently than you usually do, it made such a difference on my writing process personally.
